ROLANDO CHANG BARRERO SUBJECT OF INSPIRATIONAL ADDICTION RECOVERY VIDEO PROJECT

National Video Release on September, 2014.

The Delray Recovery Center, located in Delray Beach, Florida, releases an inspirational video highlighting the triumphs and joys of recovering from addiction.

Delray Beach, FL – The Delray Recovery Center is proud to announce the release of a video featuring artist, advocate, and community leader Rolando Chang Barrero. The video focuses on Rolando’s journey from overcoming addiction to contributing and creating the legacy of cultural institutions like the Florida Arts Association, Art Synergy, and a portfolio of paintings and murals now being collected nationwide.

As an artist, Rolando enjoys putting everything into his art, most of all his joy of living. Having survived various addictions, as well as cancer, Rolando has transformed his challenges into becoming one of the most celebrated artists living in Palm Beach County and creating a thriving art scene called the Boynton Beach Art District, in Boynton Beach, Florida.

We often hear the harrowing stories of addiction, but we never hear about the triumphs individuals experience in recovery. There is life after addiction, and this video is a celebration of Rolando’s passion as an artist and scene maker.

“I am thrilled and honored to have another platform to share my story with others. I hope people who watch this video feel inspired by my journey,” said Rolando. “Addictions are not life sentences, recovery is possible and you get to create your future.”

Rolando is the recipient of the Congressional Letter of Commendation 2014, Founder of the Florida Arts Association, and Director of the Boynton Beach Art District. He is an award winner of New Times: Best Art Walk in Broward and Palm Beach Counties 2013, and for the Best Exhibition in Broward and Palm Beach Counties in 2014. Rolando holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Masters of Art in Art Therapy from the Art Institute of Chicago where he graduated with a Ryerson Travelling Fellowship. He lives in West Palm Beach, and maintains a professional art studio at the Boynton Beach Art District.

Located in Delray Beach, Florida, The Delray Recovery Center offers individualized treatment programs for alcohol and drug addiction, as well as co-occurring mental health disorders.
