ActivistArtistA Teams Up With
Local Art Businesses for Children's Event!

ActivistArtistA, ArtSea Living, and Artful Dreamers
joining
Museum of Lifestyle and Fashion History
for
8th Annual Children and Parents Day!

The pineapple fruit will have a starring role at the 8th Children & Parents Day set for Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Boynton Beach, Florida (Palm Beach County). Sponsored by Target stores and presented by the non-profit Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History, Children & Parents Day is celebrating the pineapple fruit for National Nutrition Awareness Month. The event will feature a personal appearance by the "Pineapple Farmer Patty" who will make a presentation about the history of pineapple farming in Palm Beach County, Florida. The 8th annual Children & Parents Day will also include pineapple fruit-infused cooking demos, kids cooking classes, pineapple-themed arts and crafts, souvenir photos, and an all-you-can eat farm-to-table lunch.
The pineapple farming industry was introduced in South Florida in 1860 and survived until the 1930s Great Depression. The pineapple farmers in Palm Beach County were former slaves, black Bahamians, Germans and other European-Americans from Michigan, Pennsylvania and other parts of the USA.

Multimedia Festival
Free before noon!

AWAKE THE LION
Awake The Lion is a indie/folk rock band based in Delray Beach. You can find more about us at http://facebook.com/awakethelion or contact us via email at aaronstorck @ gmail . com
Aaron has been writing music as a way of coping since he was eight years old. He has been performing as a solo singer/songwriter for more than nine years, but has been actively performing and writing new music over the last year accompanied by various musicians, from violin to the cajon. Working by trade as a software developer and web technology engineer for the last 18 years, he hopes of putting a band together, producing an album, and taking advantage of his technology skill set to both promote and differentiate the band.
