This is an environment where emerging and established artists work together in an incubator setting, bringing varied art elements together to celebrate creativity.  A future article will focus on Boynton Beach’s Art in Public Places, which covers a vast array of artistry. BBAD, Boynton Beach Art District serves as an incubator space where all art forms are showcased, including visual and performing arts. It is an alternative contemporary art scene dedicated to creating an environment where art comes alive.

Located at 410 – 422 West Industrial Avenue, BBAD has been designated as “Best Art Walk in Broward/Palm Beach County,” and there will be a big celebration during their next Art Walk on June 27, 2013 from 6 to 10 PM.   Beverages will be provided by Community Caring Center of Boynton Beach.  Food provided by “Best of List” winner PS*561, with their award winning hot dogs!

The ActivistArtistA Gallery: Printed Matters Exhibition, The Work of Cary Polkovitz
The New Times Magazine’s Best of List is release once a year and provides the community with recommendations, reviews, and directions to the various establishments. This is an amazing boost to Boynton Beach, which has, of recent, been touted as the new cultural force in South Florida.

Dancer Maryann Payne Joins ActivistArtistA for Summer...


Maryann Panye joins ActivistArtistA

The young, beautiful, and talented dancer, 
Ms. Maryann Payne will be joining the staff of 
ActivistArtistA, the promoter of the emerging art scence at the 
Boynton Beach Art District. With the District's new designation of Best Art Walk in Palm Beach and Browrd County, Ms. Payne could not have picked a better time to share her experience with the Palm Beach County area. Payne was one of two candidates considered for the postion through an internship program developed by 
Annette Gray's Global Business Developement Center.

Maryann's apointment to the staff will serve two distinct functions: to help estabish her as a dance advocate, an initate the first dance program at the Boynton Beach Art District.  Her efforts at programing will be spotlighted during the Golden Festival in early October-ActivistArtistA 2nd Anniversary Celebration of the Arts.  Ms. Payne will be providing a much needed boost to dance programing in our area.

"GBDC is a one stop shop boutique firm specializing in services for public and private organizations, small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to establish grow or improve their profit margin. The organization is primarily dedicated to helping clients to explore: new markets start up and expansion opportunities by providing training, support services, funding and business development resources. We provide products for business owners at every stage of business development, from idea feasibility through start-up, growth, and expansion."

 
Currently a resident of Boynton Beach, Ms.Payne recently retuned from 
perfoming Lorraine in "Hairspray the Broadway Musical" with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. California native, Maryann Payne began her dance studies at age 8 with the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, in Los Angeles. Her passion grew as she studied modern, African, ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and Afro-Caribbean techniques. Joining the Youth Dance Ensemble (YDE), she traveled the community and state performing as a company. At the age of 14 Maryann began her professional dance career with the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks. At that moment she decided this is what she wanted to continue her life doing. Relocating to Florida Maryann's mother enrolled her in Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Dance major. There she trained with teachers and choreographers with prestigious technical professional backgrounds. Troy Powell, Margo Sappington, Kathy Posin, Jan Hanniford to name a few. Through the school she was able to travel The Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Joffrey Ballet, Florida Ballet Conservatory. After high school she began training at New World School of the Arts and 
Miami Ballet Conservatory.
