Biography / Curriculum Vitae


Anthony Burks, 

a native Floridian born, Is one of the most unique and prolific conceptual of both fine and commercial artists in America.  He works numerous forms of media including pen & ink, pastels, watercolor and color pencil.

This Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale graduate has won awards and contests including Best of Show in several different art shows. He has freelanced for a number companies including:  Beverly Bean Associates, Baron Signs Manufacturing and Advent Advertising.  He has also worked with several organizations including: Delta Sigma Theta sorority, The Urban League, The Children’s Coalition, Palm Beach Artist Showcase, Center for Creative Education and Voices of Pride.

Anthony has also exhibited his artwork at various galleries, museums and events, a Solo Show at Expressive Vibe Art Gallery, the Cornell Museum at Old School Square, The Historical Jenkins and the Palm Beach County Governor’s Club, as well as showcases at Gallery One, Ann Norton Sculpture Garden, The Palm Beach County Cultural Council Arts Exhibition, A Gathering of Kuumba at Old School Square, Poetic Expressions, Speak Easy poetry showcase, Nubian Art Gallery and Eg2 Gallery Group.
Anthony’s painting Freedom 2001 is in the Cornell Museum permanent collection.
Anthony also utilizes his skills to encourage artistic youth to further pursue their own creative talents and to help promote the arts.  He is presently joint founder of A.T.B. Graphic Designers ™, Soul Poetry™, A.T.B. Fine Artists & Designers ™ & Collaboration art showcase.  He was a co-manager of ArtSpace 408 in the Village in business district of Northwood Village & is presently working on his first coffee table art book.
He also collaborated with several artists on a project called Endangered Florida Species Exhibition which proceeds of the sale of their art will be going to 3 charities, including Busch Wildlife Sanctuary.

Artist Statement
The obstacles in my life have not hindered me from seeing the beauty of the others and their capacity to move forward. The blessings given to me allow me to be able to execute human nature on a larger scale of life which is actually pretty simplistic.
